Nice write up.

And I know it's a huge long shot, but until officially done, still holding out hope the Isles choke that spot away.

Pains me to say this, but tonight it's go B's, Sens and Wings. And of course go Yotes!!

Exactly. I will not be surprised when NY loses both, the difficult part will be the Bruins and Sens winning out.

Some players to keep an eye on: McDavid, who will be going to Toronto at #1 overall and Eichel, who will be going to Arizona at #2 overall.

No, I will forever be a shining example of pure, 100% Buffalo sports dread mentality.

Of course. Of course. Listen I love me some Sabres, but my gut is telling me that this will go down as one of the most heartbreaking scenarios in the annals of Buffalo Sports mishaps. Theodore Nolan was not the right man to have in place if the ultimate goal was to finish 30th. I will forever blame Murray for that if this all falls apart. The Sabres, at this point in the season, are one of the hardest working teams in hockey. I can just imagine Theodore Nolan pacing the locker room floor giving an epic Braveheart speech prior to every game and practice. Columbus is hot but due for a stinker of a loss, and the Penguins are currently trash on ice. Pride is a powerful thing and I fear it will lead our beloved Sabres to 3 out of 4 more points.

I'll buy into any buffalo sports curse you got except this one. I don't think there was a more perfect guy for the job. An old style coach who still probably significantly over values "grit, heart, hustle" and all that bullpoop vs. talent? He was perfect for this. You put a half decent coach who employs strategy and this team is probably where arizona or edmonton are.

Nice job. I always go to the blog before the comments. I can't say that about my lurking days and Garth's blogs.

It hurts rooting for the Bruins and Sens (eff the Sens). I just remind myself it's for a good cause. The same goes for rooting against the Sabres. Go Yotes and lock up 30th for the Sabres.

Since Ted Nolan doesn't play goal, I can't subscribe to this theory. There is no way to say a better X & O's coach wouldn't have had them ahead of Toronto in the standings by now. This team is still half an AHL team and hasn't played a good team in a week. They'll lose the last 2.

You do realize the Sabres have been in 30th pretty much all year.... Seems to me he was the perfect coach for the job.
